Sharing & Copying Strategies

The sharing feature lets you take a strategy you have already built in Trade Strategies and give it to another user as an exact, ready-to-run copy — or receive one from someone else.

Open this feature when you want to pass a working setup to another trader, publish it for the community, or start from a proven strategy instead of configuring everything yourself.

Why this feature matters

Building a futures strategy from scratch means understanding signal groups, bot settings, trading pairs, price limits, and risk management. That is a lot to get right before the first trade.

Sharing removes that effort on both sides. The author defines the strategy once and shares it; the recipient receives an identical replica in a couple of clicks, without configuring anything by hand. This makes it easier to reuse proven setups and lowers the entry barrier for newer users.

The two roles

There are two sides to this feature, and the interface adapts to each one.

  • The author shares a strategy they own and manages the link that other users open.
  • The recipient opens a shared link, reviews what will be copied, and imports the strategy under their own profile and account.

Sharing a strategy (author)

In Trade Strategies, each strategy you own has a share action next to the other row actions. Opening it lets you create and manage a single share link for that strategy.

When managing the link, the author can:

  • choose the visibility — Private (only people who receive the link can open it) or Public (the strategy is also listed in the Strategy Marketplace with its live performance);
  • set a price in FDC (Firedrake Credits), or leave it at 0 to share for free;
  • add an optional description (up to 500 characters) shown on the marketplace card and the copy window;
  • copy the link to send it directly;
  • regenerate the link — which replaces the old one, so any previously shared link stops working;
  • revoke the link, after which it can no longer be opened;
  • turn Telegram notifications on or off — be alerted when someone copies the strategy and when a royalty is credited;
  • follow simple counters showing how many users opened, imported, or declined the link.

Notifications are sent by the Firedrake | Notifications bot, so link your Telegram in Platform → Connect Telegram to receive them. Both toggles are on by default and can be changed per link when you generate or regenerate it.

For public links the free text on the card — the strategy name and description — is checked by automated moderation when you generate the link. If something is flagged, the card is put on hold (hidden from the marketplace) for a manual review and you get a Telegram notice; the team then approves it (it appears) or rejects it (you're asked to fix the text and re-publish with a new link). The same applies if a card is reported and the team finds a problem.

The link stores a frozen snapshot of the strategy at the moment it is generated. Later edits to the original strategy do not change what a shared link offers — to publish changes, the author regenerates the link.

In your Trade Strategies list, a strategy you have shared carries a small badge: Public when it is published in the marketplace, or Shared when only a private link is active — so you can tell at a glance which of your strategies are shared.

You can publish any strategy — there is no eligibility gate. When you choose Public, the share window simply previews the status your card will carry on the marketplace, so there are no surprises: whether it will show as Live or Not running (if the strategy or its bot is switched off), and whether it already has a track record (10+ combined closed deals) or shows No track record. The card is listed either way. (Only an imported strategy actually prevents generating the link; a public card's name/description still go through moderation as described above.)

If your strategy sizes its first order as a % of deposit, that is no longer a blocker: the copy is made with a fixed first order (your current amount) instead, and the share window shows a short note to that effect. This keeps the copier's order size from drifting because they have a different deposit — your own strategy is left untouched, and the figures shown on the card are the fixed amounts the copier actually gets.

Enablement and track record are no longer a gate — they are shown as an honest status. A published card stays on the marketplace and simply reflects reality: while the strategy and its bot settings are ON it shows 🟢 Live; the moment the author switches either off (or, for a tandem, a leg) it flips to 🟠 Not running — and back to Live when re-enabled — instead of disappearing. Fewer than 10 combined closed deals shows a 🔵 No track record status. Copiers see all of this and decide for themselves (filters let them narrow to Live / with a track record / verified only). The one thing that removes a card is deleting the strategy — that invalidates its link, so it drops off the marketplace entirely. A private link is not affected by enablement or track record — it can always be opened directly (until the strategy is deleted or the link is revoked).

Tandem (paired) strategies

Some strategies are designed to work only as a pair — one running Long and a mirror one running Short — and the real result comes from running them together. For these, the share window has a Companion strategy dropdown.

When you pick a companion, the link packages both strategies at once and the marketplace shows them as one card (a Tandem badge), not two — so importers are never confused about which halves belong together. On that single card:

  • the first order and total bot volume are shown as the combined total of the two strategies, so the importer sees the real capital the pair needs;
  • the performance figures (profit, win rate, deals, score) are the combined track record of both legs;
  • the risk profile shows both sides (for example Long + Short).

The companion dropdown lists only your own strategies on the same exchange that are not themselves imported (the same rules that apply to the primary strategy). Exactly two legs are supported per link.

When someone copies a tandem, both strategies are created under their profile in one step, named to make the pair obvious (a [Tandem …] marker). As with any import, both arrive switched off — the importer must enable both for the pair to work as intended. If the author later deletes either strategy of the pair, the tandem link is invalidated (half a tandem is not importable).

Pricing and commission

Sharing can be free or paid. When you set a price in FDC, an importer is charged that price once — the first time they import from this link. Re-importing the same link later is free, and a link that is only viewed or declined is never charged. Regenerating the link creates a new one, which can carry a new price.

On each paid import the platform withholds a commission and the rest is credited to your withdrawal balance. The commission depends on the link type:

  • Public (marketplace) links — 25%. You keep 75% of the price.
  • Private links — 15%. You keep 85% of the price.

For example, at a price of 10 FDC: on a public link you receive 7.5 FDC and the platform keeps 2.5 FDC; on a private link you receive 8.5 FDC and the platform keeps 1.5 FDC. The importer pays the same 10 FDC in both cases — the link type only changes how the price is split between you and the platform. The exact terms are shown in the share window when you set a price, and by setting one you agree to them.

What gets copied

A shared strategy is copied as a complete, self-contained replica. The import recreates, under the recipient's profile and selected account:

Nothing on the author's side is affected, and the recipient does not have to configure any of these sections manually.

Copying a strategy (recipient)

When you open a share link, an import window shows a summary before anything is copied:

  • who shared it (author profile number) and on which exchange;
  • the strategy name;
  • the money figures per one bot — first order (FO), position volume and reserve — straight from the settings (for a tandem, per each leg), plus the total at full capacity if every bot opens (per-bot × the max active bots × the number of strategies), so you can size the account for the whole thing, not just one bot;
  • the price — Free, or the FDC cost;
  • warnings about funds and risk, and a disclaimer of responsibility.

To import, you select which of your accounts the strategy should run on and confirm. The account must be on the same exchange as the shared strategy — a strategy shared for Bybit cannot be imported to a Binance account, and the platform enforces this.

If the strategy is paid, its FDC cost is charged once. Re-importing the same link afterwards is free. If your FDC balance is not enough, the import stops and offers to top up your Spending Wallet.

After importing

For your safety, an imported strategy is created switched off. It does not trade until you enable it. To launch it:

  1. Open Trade Strategies.
  2. Find the new copy — it is marked as imported and named after the author it came from.
  3. Review its settings and make sure the account has enough funds.
  4. Enable the strategy.

From that point it runs automatically on your account, exactly like the author's original.

What you can and can't change in a copy

An imported strategy faithfully reproduces the author's work, so its two kinds of settings are treated differently — one is locked, the other is yours to tune:

  • Strategy settings — locked. The logic that defines the strategy (its filters, trading pairs, price limits and entry rules — the author's "edge") is fixed, and some of the author's internal filter values are hidden. You cannot edit them: this is what keeps your copy behaving like the original whose track record you saw. An imported strategy also cannot be shared again or duplicated — you cannot repackage someone else's work as your own.
  • Bot settings — yours to tune. The money side of the copy is fully editable: the first order (FO), take-profit (TP), stop-loss (SL) and the safety-order grid (SO). This is exactly how you size the strategy to your own budget — lower the first order (FO) to run it on a smaller deposit, or raise it if you have more capital to commit. Editing these changes how much capital each deal uses, not the strategy's logic, so the entry behaviour still matches the original.

You can enable or disable the copy, assign it to one of your accounts, tune its bot settings to your budget, and run it — you simply cannot alter or repackage the author's underlying strategy.

How this feature fits into the Futures workflow

Sharing connects individual strategies to the wider platform.

  • Trade Strategies is where a strategy is built and where sharing starts.
  • Sharing turns a finished strategy into a link — private, or public.
  • The Strategy Marketplace is where public strategies are discovered and copied by other users.

Summary

Use sharing when you want to hand a complete, ready-to-run strategy to another user, publish it for the community, or start from a proven setup instead of building one from scratch. Copied strategies arrive as identical replicas and always start switched off, so you review and enable them on your own terms.
